General Information


Please note that spikes are optional and are only permitted for athletes Under 11 and up. Spike shoes must be carried in a separate bag and are not to be worn to the event. Shoes are compulsory for all events.



Parking within theclub grounds are for committee members & coaches only. Parents are asked to please park on the side roads or around the Clem Jones Centre.  Additionally there is car parking available 200m along Stanley Rd at the Carina Bowls club.



Little Athletics involves a number of events operating simultaneously across many age groups. To allow the centre to run efficiently requires the active participation of our parents each week. It is expected that the centre will require the assistance of approximately 60 parents each week. The centre accepts that some parents are not always available to assist with the running of our weekly competitions. However, the centre will not allow athletes to take part in weekly competitions if there are insufficient parents to effectively operate their age group. All U6 & U7 athletes are to be accompanied by parents.  Parents who are unable to help out at 60% of competition nights will forfeit the $40 family levy.


Age Marshals are responsible for the co-ordination and management of their group's events together with monitoring athlete behaviour. They are also responsible to ensure that the programme is followed in order, and that the results sheets are handed in to the Recorder at the end of each competition night. Age Marshals can be easily identified by the yellow bibs showing their age group.


The club has an approved Child Risk Policy in line with government policies. A copy is available for viewing in the clubhouse.

Any adult who is not a parent of a registered athlete is required to hold a current blue card.


The committee of Balmoral Little Athletics Centre meets as required.  If you have any issues you would like to discuss of have resolved at a committee meeting, please submit them in writing to the secretary at least 7 days prior to the next committee meeting. The success of our centre is based on a philosophy of open and honest communication. The committee prides itself on always being approachable and will work throughout the year to quickly and confidently resolve your questions or issues.


An Annual General Meeting is held at the end of each season, usually during April and in conjunction with our trophy presentation night. The meeting is usually held at the Clem Jones Centre and a date will be advised through our centre's newsletter.
