Balmoral LA 2014 - 2015 Season - NEWS
Season 2014-2015 is quickly racing upon us! Sign-on begins in August - please see the calendar page for details.
The new committee has met twice already this off-season and has planning well underway with a few changes from last season expected. Previous members should receive a newsletter shortly and it will be available here too as soon as it is sent out. We still need to fill a couple of roles that may not necessarily mean attending meetings. Please see one of the committee if you think you can help!
Our website is in need of a spruce up - anyone of our members a web site developer or one of our children an IT guru? Please contact Tony if you think you can help or if you want to recommend someone. Facebook, twitter and the like need to be integrated as well.

WELCOME & GENERAL INFORMATION
Welcome to the Balmoral Little Athletics (LA) Club website. We are a well-established Brisbane athletics club for 5 - 17 year olds. Our club is located on the Stanley Rd entrance to the Clem Jones complex in Carina (see map below right).
Little Athletics promotes that it is important to "Be your Best"®. The emphasis is on fun, participation, performance, technique and getting involved with your family in physical and healthy activity. Little Athletics recognises that children vary widely in shape, size and athletic ability, and is thus one of few sports that successfully caters for them all. Each year across Australia, approximately 95,000 boys and girls enjoy the activities that Little Athletics has to offer.
The events are set accordingly to age groups. Some examples of the events are:- Sprints & Hurdles, middle and long distance running, walks, long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus, shot put, javelin and hurdles.
Athletics Coaching and training
As well as offering guidance to young athletes on club nights, coaching sessions will commence on September 10th. Coaching is available during the season on Tuesdays nights prior to competition nights from 5:30 - 6:30pm. Coaching sessions will cover a variety of events including sprints, jumps, throws and middle distance. All sessions are conducted by qualified Track & Field coaches. There is no additional charge to attend training sessions for fully registered athletes.
